PARKING is available in theemployee lot located behind the portables (lot H on the map at their website). The lot is located on the back side of the campus. It is best to enter the lower entrance and take the second left that leads to the back side of campus. Walk down the small access road and we are in the last portable on the left.

It's A Wonderful Life

Attached you will find a flyer from The Sertoma Club about an upcoming play- "It's A Wonderful Life" on November 9, 2011. Sertoma’s primary focus is on assisting the more than 50 million people with hearing health issues and educating the public on the issues surrounding hearing health. The Bucks County Sertoma Club has supported our IU for many years by donating grant dollars to assist our students with hearing issues. Upcoming Events Hosted by the BCASC

BCASC Parent Forum Date: Tuesday, September 13, 2011 Time: 7:00pm-9:00pm Where: Doylestown Health & Wellness Center, 847 Easton Road, Warrington PA 18976 (in the Doylestown Room on the lower level of the building.) The group is open to all, including parents, grandparents and guardians or children and teens and adults on the autism spectrum in Bucks County and surrounding areas. Parents of children with autism spectrum disorders often feel socially isolated and have difficulty finding information and support. The group will be an open forum, with no pre-planned agenda. What is Evidence-Based Practice, and why it is important? Date: Monday October 3, 2011 Time: 7:00pm-9:00pm Where: Bucks County Intermediate Unit, 705 North Shady Retreat Road, Doylestown, PA 18901 Please join us for this FREE presention by: Dr. Peter Doehring, Director of Autism Services, Foundations Behavioral Health With the tremendous increase in scientific research on Autism Spectrum Disorder (or ASD) over the past 15 years, we are able to identify specific, evidence-based practices (or EBPs) based on the consistency and quality of research supporting them. We define EBP, and discuss the advantages of relying on EBP whenever possible. We also describe some of the limits to EBP, because of the limited range of research currently available, and the challenge of knowing whether research findings apply to all children with ASD. We conclude by offering some practical advice to parents and professionals seeking to evaluate whether a given approach is likely to work with their child.
